2026 Mid-Year Market Intelligence: Overseas Fertilizer Registrations

Data compiled from the official chemical fertilizer registration review session for the first half of 2026 highlights a definitive shifts in the agricultural input sector. During this cycle, a total of 42 registration certificates were granted to 35 enterprises across 16 countries.

The breakdown reveals an overwhelming concentration of product types: 40 certificates were awarded to organic water-soluble fertilizers, while only 2 certificates were issued for soil conditioners. Organic water-soluble formulations commanded a massive 95% share of all approved overseas products. This international data perfectly mirrors domestic market dynamics, where organic water-soluble products represented 96% of all domestically approved fertilizers. Clearly, organic water-soluble technology has cemented itself as the primary strategic battlefield for both domestic and global crop nutrition manufacturers.

Geographic Leadership and Competitive Layout

South Korea (13 Enterprises, 15 Certificates): Market Share Leader

Korean manufacturers secured more than half of all approved international registrations, dominating the cohort. Top performers include DOF Ltd., which captured three registration certificates for its flagship organic water-soluble formulations. Followed by key market anchors such as C&LChemical, Korea Suntech Chemical, and Korea Yaluda Corporation, South Korean firms continue to establish themselves as the primary volume driver in the premium imported fertilizer sector.

Spain (6 Enterprises, 7 Certificates): High-Efficiency Formulation Specialists

Spanish manufacturers secured the second-highest volume of registrations, demonstrating an aggressive cross-border expansion plan. Led by specialized firms like AVAN EUROPE, FPS FERTIPLANT PLUS, and AGRITECNO FERTILIZANTES S.L, Spanish players are heavily differentiating through advanced, high-organic-matter powders and specialized liquid delivery systems.

Rest of World / Niche Specialists (1–2 Certificates Each): Specialized Raw Materials

Enterprises spanning the United States, France, the Netherlands, Australia, South Africa, the UK, Chile, Malaysia, and Italy successfully secured targeted entry points. Rather than competing on mass market scale, these entries lean into geographical raw material advantages, such as South Africa's distinct seaweed-extract biostimulants.

Notably, Cleveland Potash Limited from the United Kingdom carved out a unique segment, securing both of the session's sole soil conditioner registrations. These products utilize premium, naturally occurring polyhalite to remediate saline-alkali soils.

Strategic Takeaways

The Commoditization of Organic Water-Solubles: With over 95% of overseas pipelines consolidating around organic water-soluble products, this segment is no longer a localized high-margin niche—it is a hyper-competitive, globally commoditized track.

Barriers to Entry are Shifting: South Korean enterprises are successfully combining geographic proximity with mature, reliable product lines to anchor market share. Concurrently, European and Australian players are leveraging advanced technical form factors and proprietary raw materials to secure high-margin niches.

The Imperative for Domestic Brands: For domestic manufacturers, the window for leveraging aggressive pricing and baseline, copycat formulations is closing. Competing against advanced international portfolios requires sustained, capital-intensive investments in structural formula optimization, manufacturing process upgrades, and scientifically validated crop performance.
